Frequently Asked Questions
Is 99 Prayer worth it in OSRS?
Protection prayers (43) and Piety/Rigour/Augury (74–77) are the real goals — 99 Prayer itself mainly extends prayer duration. Most players stop training once they have their key prayer unlocks. But 99 is nice for sustained boss sessions.
What's the cheapest way to get 99 Prayer?
Ensouled heads via reanimation is the most cost-effective — many heads drop from bosses for free. Otherwise, dragon bones on a gilded altar (75 Construction or a friend's house) is the classic low-cost method.
Do I need 99 Prayer to unlock Piety?
No — Piety requires 74 Prayer and completing King's Ransom quest. Rigour and Augury require 74 Prayer + a specific unlock scroll. None of the major prayer milestones require 99.
